Downey now at 10 confirmed coronavirus cases
DOWNEY — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Downey doubled overnight, reaching 10, L.A. County health officials said Thursday.
The numbers were part of 421 new cases confirmed in L.A. County. Over the last 48 hours there have been 559 new cases.
“This dramatic increase in cases is due in part to increased testing capacity in LA County which is allowing us to identify more positive cases,” said Barbara Ferrer, PhD, Los Angeles County Public Health Director.
Health officials also announced nine new deaths, bringing the total to 21.
