Downey High students collect 400 cases of water

DOWNEY — More than 400 cases of water were collected by a group of Downey High School students and alumni on Friday, which were subsequently donated to first responders who are fighting the wildfires in the state.

The drive was spearheaded by 19-year-old alumnus Andrew Carrieri (pictured).

“I’m extra happy,” said Carrieri. “We lost count…it’s crazy.” Carrieri says that water came not only from Downey residents, but neighboring communities as well.
