Downey High cheer wins state titles

Downey High School’s cheer squad made history at the USA Spirit Nationals held at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 22, bringing home three first place trophies, a Vikings sweep. It was Downey High’s first varsity title. Downey High’s nationally ranked cheer program is led by Leslie Patterson, who took over the program nine years ago along with assistant Natalie Flores and coach/choreographer Conner Huber.
