Downey High cheer wins second consecutive CIF title
DOWNEY — Downey High School’s varsity cheerleading team won its second straight CIF championship this past weekend, beating out a competitive field to earn the title.
The Vikings won the CIF championship last year as well, the first year that cheerleading was recognized as an official CIF sport.
Downey was named best in the CIF’s co-ed Division 1, defeating top schools from throughout Southern California.
The competition took place at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside.
