Downey DJAA sixth-grade team advances to state championship

DOWNEY -- The Downey sixth grade DJAA basketball team won the SCMAF Tournament in Inglewood last week, advancing to the state championship tournament this weekend. 

Downey defeated Cerritos and Lynwood on March 17 to advance to the title game against Lakewood on March 18. Downey came out victorious, beating Lakewood, 22-20.
