Downey Crime Report: 4/10/25

■ On March 31 at 11:40 pm, officers responded to a group of suspicious subjects in the 7900 block of Burns Ave. As officers arrived on the scene, the subjects fled, and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspects entered a cul-de-sac and fled from the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were located and subsequently arrested.

■ On April 2 at 12:35 am, an officer on routine patrol in the area of Firestone Blvd. and Pangborn Ave. attempted to stop a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. The suspect fled from officers but was ultimately located and taken into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of a firearm and narcotics.

■ On April 4 at 1:05 am, officers responded to the 9500 block of Firestone Blvd. regarding an overdose. Officers arrived and found an unconscious male adult. Officers administered Narcan and the male regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

■ On April 5 at 8:55 pm, officers responded to Stonewood Mall regarding an auto theft that had just occurred. An officer located the stolen vehicle near the Downey Promenade. As additional officers responded, the stolen vehicle fled, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The driver of the stolen vehicle began driving erratically at high speeds. The pursuit was ultimately terminated by officers in the interest of public safety. The vehicle was later recovered by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
