Downey considers painting mural on side of parking garage

DOWNEY – The Downey city council on Tuesday will consider selecting from four different mural designs in an effort to make the downtown parking structure more attractive.

The murals are part of a plan to make the garage safer and visually appealing.

In addition to new interior and exterior paint, the city is installing a security camera system inside the garage.

The council is also expected to hire a new security company to conduct patrols inside the three-story structure.
