Downey clothing designers to debut new styles at fashion show
DOWNEY — A pair of fashion designers from Downey will have their designs displayed Thursday at an exclusive Downtown L.A. fashion show.
SWF Los Angeles will feature clothing styles from several designers, including Criseida Serpas and Johana Hernandez.
Serpas, a St. Matthias High School alumnus, is creator of Criseida Couture, a line of pin-up style cocktail dresses. Her dresses have been worn by television personalities and news anchors.
Thursday will mark Serpas’ first time showcasing on a runway.
Hernandez is behind Glaudi Bridal, whose collections can be found in Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Target, and other stores.
Born in the U.S. to Salvadorian parents, Hernandez has designed many dresses for young Latinx celebrities.
The fashion show will be held at St. John’s Cathedral and is open to the public. Festivities begin at 3 p.m.; Criseida Couture will be featured on the runway at 6 p.m., and Glaudi Bridal at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
