DOWNEY — A public demonstration is planned Tuesday to urge the Downey City Council to join other L.A. County cities in supporting a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Cudahy was the first city in Southeast L.A. County to adopt a ceasefire resolution, followed by Bell Gardens, according to Los Angeles Public Press. La Puente and El Monte passed similar resolutions.

Local community organizers plan to demonstrate outside Porto’s Bakery on Tuesday at 5 pm before marching to Downey City Hall.
