Downey Christmas Parade will feature 5 grand marshals

DOWNEY — The Downey Chamber of Commerce has announced the five people who will serve as grand marshals of the 2019 Downey Christmas Parade.

The grand marshals include:

  • Stacy Brabant, a civic leader and volunteer with the Assistance League of Downey

  • David Gafin, a retired council member and an active volunteer with the Downey Chamber

  • George and Carrie Redfox, educators and supporters of the Downey Rose Float Association

  • Carol Rowland, director of Keep Downey Beautiful

“We took four parties and wanted to recognize them for the service they do in the community,” said Chamber Executive Director Michael Calvert.

This year’s parade theme is “A Christmas of Serving.” The parade is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, on Downey Avenue.
