Downey at 155 coronavirus cases
DOWNEY — The number of coronavirus cases in Downey stands at 155 as of Wednesday, health officials said.
Health officials identified 1,318 new cases across L.A. County, a dramatic increase in numbers attributed to a growing number of testing sites across the county.
Officials also confirmed 66 new deaths, bringing the death total to 729.
“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we are reminded that we are all part of one humanity united in our efforts to recover from this pandemic. Sadly, 66 additional people died from COVID-19, and our sincere condolences go out to every person affected by these losses,” said Barbara Ferrer, director of public health.
