Downey adds 10 coronavirus cases overnight, now at 147

DOWNEY — The number of coronavirus cases in Downey raised by 10 overnight and is now at 147, health officials said.

The number of confirmed infected people in L.A. County is rising as testing sites open across the region.

On Tuesday, health officials announced 47 new deaths attributed to Covid-19, the disease caused by coronavirus.

“As we learn more about the virus it becomes clear that there are many asymptomatic people across the county that are capable of spreading Covid-19 to others,” said Barbara Ferrer, director of public health. “Our strategies moving forward need to ask everyone to keep their physical distance from each other, wear face coverings when in contact with others, and stay home as much as possible.”
