Dora Silvers

February 27, 1928 - March 27, 2025

Dora Silvers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on March 27, 2025. Born on February 27, 1928, in New Jersey, Dora moved to California with her husband, Jack, shortly after they married, beginning a beautiful life together on the West Coast.

For most of her life, Dora called Norwalk home, where she and Jack raised their five children—Mitchell, Cliff, Gary, Neil, and Nancy.

Dora had a sharp wit and a remarkable gift for storytelling. For many years, she attended a memoir writing class, where she wrote creative and often hilariously candid stories about her life experiences. Her storytelling brought joy to those around her, and she formed deep friendships with fellow writers who appreciated her humor, honesty, and unique perspective on the world.

She was also a dedicated member of Temple Ner Tamid, where she found both spiritual connection and lifelong friendships.

Dora is survived by her four children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the pleasure of hearing her stories.

A service to honor her life will be held at Young Israel Cemetary on March 28, 2025 at noon.

May her memory live on through the stories she shared.
