Don't be alarmed by helicopters flying over Downey tonight

DOWNEY — It’s Election Day and polls are officially open.

After polls close at 8 p.m., the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office will begin tallying votes and posting results from its Tally Operation Center in Downey. The address is 9150 Imperial Hwy.

Expect a fair amount of media on-site, including media helicopters.

Live election results will be posted at lavote.net, likely starting at around 8:30 p.m.
