Donna Carol Honeycutt
October 24, 1944 - December 17, 2021
Donna passed away on the morning of December 17th, 2021 at the age of 77 years old. She was born in the city of Bell, California on October 24th, 1944 and was living in the city of Bellflower, California for the last 35 years. She had many talents which included singing as a soloist in churches, for weddings, funerals for numerous years. She loved to paint using water colors and had decorated her home with some of the pictures. Donna was active in poetry groups for over 30 years and had won numerous prizes state wide for her poetry. At one of the poetry meetings she met John Vincent and later joined him by volunteering at the Downey Historical Society for over ten years. She helped Larry Latimer in doing the research for his book The History of Downey California. Donna was also active in seminars on creative writing and used her skill in helping John Vincent in writing his books on his life adventures. Donna is survived by her life partner Bobbi E. Bruce, Donna’s daughter Holly Michaud-Furutani, son-in-law John Furutani, three grandsons, Eddie Jo, Brandon, and Jake – she has a great-granddaughter Regan, Donna’s brother Dennis Carpenter died in 2020. Her aunt Betti Babineau lives in Carlsbad and Donna has many relatives living in Arizona. Donna’s kind spirit and loving touches will be missed by all who were lucky to have had her in their life.
