Crime Report, Oct. 9-11
Friday, Oct. 9:
At 12:30 a.m., Downey police officers responded to the 9000 block of Charloma in regards to a robbery that occurred. The victim had arrived home and exited his vehicle. He was approached by two male suspects wearing dark clothing. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The suspects robbed the victim of money and his personal belongings. The suspects were last seen running westbound on Lubec and out of sight. Detectives are investigating.
Saturday, Oct. 10:
At 12:40 a.m., while patrolling the Downtown area, Downey police officers observed a male subject urinating in public. The subject was detained and issued a municipal code citation for the offense.
Sunday, Oct. 11:
At 5 a.m., a fuel delivery vehicle was traveling east on Firestone Blvd. As it was turning into the entrance for the ARCO gas station at 7322 Firestone, it collided into two city light poles and a utility box. A collision report was taken and the City Yards responded to remove the light pole that had fallen into the roadway.
