Crime Report: Oct. 15, 2018
Friday, October 5:
At 5:25 pm, the victim was standing on the corner of Lakewood and 5th when he was approached by a vehicle containing four occupants. One of the occupants brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property; the vehicle then sped away. Detectives are investigating.
At 7:40 pm, an adult female entered the Subway restaurant (11800 block of Paramount Blvd.) and tried to remove the cash register from the counter. When confronted by the store clerk, the suspect brandished a handgun and fled. There was no loss.
Officers patrolled the downtown area from 10:00 pm until 2:30 am. During that time they issued ten municipal code citations, one traffic citation and made two arrests.
Saturday, October 6:
At 1:10 am, Stonewood Mall security called to report suspicious subjects looking into vehicles in their parking lot. They then saw the suspects break a vehicle window and remove unknown items. Officers located the two suspects and arrested them for vehicle burglary.
Officers patrolled the downtown area from 10:00 pm until 2:30 am. During that time they issued 20 traffic citations, two municipal code citations and one parking citation.
Sunday, October 7:
At 1:30 am, an officer observed two male adults fighting in the downtown area. The subjects were detained and arrested for fighting in public.
