Saturday, January 21:
At 5:15 p.m., a resident in the 11600 block of Mitla Ave. discovered an unknown suspect inside his residence. The suspect fled, jumping over the wall of the backyard out of sight. Detectives are investigating.
At 10:00 p.m., a solicitor walking in the area of 11900 block of Gurley Ave. was confronted by 3 male suspects. One of the suspects forcibly removed the victim’s wallet from his back pocket. The suspects fled in a vehicle and the victim gave chase. The victim last observed the suspects running into an apartment complex in the area of Old River School Rd. and Imperial Hwy. Detectives are investigating.
Sunday, January 22:
At 2:20 a.m., officers were investigating a domestic disturbance in the downtown area. As an officer was speaking with a female victim, a male suspect, unrelated to the incident, unsuccessfully tried to remove the officer’s gun from its holster. The suspect was arrested for attempting to take a firearm from a peace officer, while the officer was engaged in the performance of his lawful duties.
