CRIME REPORT, AUG. 1, 2018

FRIDAY, JULY 20
At 1:25 am, a male suspect in his 20’s entered CVS Pharmacy at 7915 Florence and concealed a liquor bottle inside his pants. While outside, the suspect removed a knife from his pocket and swung it at the cashier. The suspect entered a car and fled the location. Detectives are investigating.

At 12:00pm, officers responded to 12850 Woodruff for a homeless encampment check. Two male were contacted and cited for 4100(b) DMC, failure to leave after being advised by owner.

At 1:15pm, officers responded to the Riverbed at Imperial Highway in regards to a homeless encampment. Officers contacted five and cited them for LA County Ordinance 20.94.030 – unauthorized use of flood control channel.

At 3 pm, Downey detectives conducted a search warrant related to a stabbing investigation from July 4th at the Downey Inn. Detectives located and arrested the 21-year-old female suspect at her apartment on the 7100 block of Stewart & Gray. The suspect was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

Two officers worked the Downtown area from 10 pm to 3 am. During that time, they issued three (3) municipal code citations for drinking in public and one (1) traffic citation. 


SUNDAY, JULY 22
Two officers worked a foot-beat in the Downtown area from 10 am to 3 pm. During that time, the officers issued nine (9) municipal code citations for drinking in public, two (2) for urinating in public and made two arrests.
