Crime Report: April 3, 2017
Friday, March 24:
At 2:30 a.m., an officer conducted a vehicle stop at Florence Avenue and Studebaker Rd. for a traffic violation. The officer searched the vehicle and discovered a loaded handgun underneath one of the seats and illegal drugs in the vehicle. One passenger was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and another passenger was arrested for being in possession of illegal drugs.
At 3:00 p.m., a male suspect entered the Arco Gas Station (8010 Imperial Hwy). The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. When the clerk grabbed for the suspect’s handgun, a round was discharged. The suspect fled in a white 4-door vehicle. There were no injuries and the Detective Bureau is investigating.
Saturday, March 25:
At 2:00 p.m., a potential buyer (suspect) of a vehicle, contacted the victim from a Craigslist add. During the test drive, the suspect brandished a handgun, and assaulted the victim. The suspect was unsuccessful in stealing the vehicle, however, he fled with the certificate of title for the vehicle. Detectives are investigating.
At 8:00 a.m., two suspects were in an altercation with the victim at the CVS parking lot (7915 Florence Avenue) and stole the victim’s vehicle. Officers located the suspects and arrested them for robbery/carjacking.
