Friday, March 5At 8 p.m. a home invasion robbery occurred in the 8100 block of Gardendale Street. Seven suspects entered the residence demanding money and drugs. The suspects eventually took some electronic items from the home and fled. No one was injured. Saturday, March 6 Just after 11:30 a.m. a custodian at Warren High observed a suspect tagging doors and a vending machine. The suspect fled the location on foot and was later found by officers. The 17 year-old Downey resident was arrested, and a records check found he was also wanted on a vandalism charge in South Gate. The juvenile was transported to Los Padrinos pending his court appearance. Sunday, March 7 About 10:50 a.m. a female Whittier resident was parking her vehicle in a parking lot in the 9400 block of Telegraph Road, when she accidently stepped on the gas peddle and drove through the front of a business and the wall of the adjoining business. One customer was treated for minor injuries and the driver was uninjured. Shortly after 8 p.m. an officer patrolling the downtown parking structure saw two suspicious subjects in a vehicle with a third sitting in adjacent car. When the subjects saw the officer, they immediately fled on foot. The officer detained the suspect who was sitting in the car, while responding officers located one of the suspects who fled on foot, and took him into custody. The third suspect eluded capture. A 17 year-old and 26 year-old, both Los Angeles residents, were arrested for burglary after officers found that the vehicle had been burglarized. Monday, March 8 At 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the 7100 block of Nada regarding a residential burglary. During a search of the residence, officers located two 14 year-old male suspects hiding inside the location. Both suspects were from the city of Lynwood and each was charged with residential burglary. At 8:00 p.m., an 18 year-old Downey resident was entering the west side of Furman Park, while the suspect was exiting the park. The suspect brandished a gun and demanded the victim's cell phone and money. The victim complied and the suspect fled the location on foot. The victim recognized the suspect from a party they both attended a year ago. A short time later, the suspect called a mutual friend and asked to meet him at Furman Park, in order to return the victim's property. Downey officers responded to the park and arrested the suspect, an 18 year-old Downey resident. The suspect was charged with armed robbery and transported to the Los Angeles County Jail. Tuesday, March 9 At 9 p.m., officers responded to the 8000 block of Cole Street regarding an armed robbery. As the 27 year old-male victim was pulling into his driveway, he was confronted by a suspect pointing a gun at him and demanding his money. The victim gave the suspect his wallet and the suspect fled the location on foot. The victim was not injured during this incident. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, standing five feet, six inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He was wearing all dark clothing.
