Crime Report: 6/14/21
On 05-31-21, at 10:05 am, a resident of the 9500 block of Arrington Ave. exited his residence and saw a male adult suspect in the process of removing his catalytic converter from his vehicle. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle, leaving a hydraulic jack behind. The suspect returned, pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded he return the jack. The victim complied and was unharmed. The suspect fled the scene.
On 06-03-21, at 9:45 pm, officers responded to Bellflower Blvd and the I-105 Freeway regarding a “shots fired” call. Officers spoke with witnesses and determined two groups were at a roadside memorial when an argument occurred. One group was preparing to leave when they were shot at. No one was injured and both the victims and suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers located spent casings at the scene.
On 06-04-21 at 10:00 pm, officers were dispatched to the American Inn (12644 Lakewood Blvd) regarding a male in possession of a firearm and breaking into a room. Officers detained an adult male on the property. The handgun was located. After further investigation, officers determined the male had pointed the handgun at the victim, his ex-girlfriend. The male was arrested for 245 PC.
On 06-05-21 at 1:55 pm, an adult male was driving erratically. The victim pulled alongside the suspect vehicle at the Lakewood Blvd and Gallatin Ave intersection. The suspect rolled down his window, brandished a semi-auto handgun, racked the slide, and threatened the victim. The suspect then fled the location and the victim did not follow.
