Crime Report: 4/23/25

  • On April 16 at 8:45 pm, officers located a wanted felony vehicle in the area of the 7800 Firestone Blvd. The vehicle was wanted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

  • On April 17 at 3:30 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. As the officer was speaking with the vehicle occupants, the driver abruptly sped off, and a pursuit ensued. Officers momentarily lost the vehicle, and the pursuit was terminated. While checking the area, an officer reacquired the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle collided with a patrol unit and once again fled. Officers located the vehicle a short distance away. The driver had fled from the vehicle; however, the passenger remained with the vehicle and was detained without incident.

  • On April 19 at 1:05 am, officers patrolling Downtown Downey observed a female in a verbal altercation with a bar security guard. As an officer intervened, the female suspect assaulted an officer. The officer quickly took the female into custody. While dealing with the initially intoxicated female suspect, a second intoxicated female suspect attempted to assault an officer. A second officer intervened and was assaulted by the second suspect. The second suspect was also taken into custody. Both suspects remained uncooperative with officers. Both suspects were booked for felony assault and transported to county jail.

  • On April 20 at 12:20 am, an officer on routine patrol in the area of Telegraph Rd. and the west city limits conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver failed to yield and fled from the officer. A pursuit ensued, and the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Telegraph Rd. and Slauson Ave. The suspect was initially trapped inside his vehicle but was extracted by the officer. After being extracted from the vehicle, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. The suspect vehicle was later determined to be stolen.
