Crime Report: 3/27/17

Friday, March 17:
At 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Telegraph Rd. and the east city limits regarding a stabbing of an adult homeless male. The victim was involved in an altercation with three homeless male subjects. During the struggle the victim was stabbed. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Officers located two of the suspects. Once was arrested for assault and the second was arrested for an unrelated warrant. The third suspect is still being sought by detectives.

At 7:50 p.m., officers responded to a local hospital regarding a stabbing that had occurred in the 9300 block of Elm Vista Avenue. The victim stated he was stabbed three hours earlier at the above location. Officers were able to determine that the suspect is a known transient. Detectives are investigating.

At 11:05 p.m., officers responded to a fire inside a residence in the 7900 block of 3rd St. It appeared the small fire was purposely set. A Downey Fire Department arson investigator is handling the investigation.
