Crime Report: 3/16/22

On March 8 at 12:55 am, officers responded to the 8000 block of Devenir Ave. in regards to a call of shots fired.  Responding officers determined two adult suspects had attempted to steal 2 ATV's from the property when they were interrupted by a resident. During the incident, the adult resident fired a single gunshot at the ground to scare the suspects. Both suspects fled southbound and were never located.

On March 8 at 9:15 pm, officers were dispatched to 7-Eleven at 7371 Florence Ave. in regards to a robbery. The adult suspect entered the store and attempted to steal some items. The adult clerk stopped the suspect who in return hit, kicked and stabbed the clerk in an attempt to flee. The clerk held onto the suspect until officers arrived. The clerk sustained a minor wound and the suspect was arrested.

On March 11 at 11:15 pm, officers were dispatched to a robbery at Downey Liquor, 7617 Firestone Blvd. Two adult males entered the store and ripped the cash register from the counter and fled in an awaiting vehicle. The clerk was unharmed and the suspects were not located. 

On March 12 at 12:45 pm, officers responded to a robbery at the Check into Cash at 9907 Paramount Blvd. The suspect entered the location with an envelope. The suspect approached the cashiers and told them to empty all the drawers and place the cash into the envelope. As he did this, the suspect displayed the handle of a handgun in his waistband. The victims complied and the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
