Crime Report: 2/18/20

On 2/3/2020, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Downey detectives conducted a buy-bust operation in the 10400 block of Firestone Blvd to recover a stolen property. An 18 year old, male Los Angeles resident and a male juvenile were arrested. Both suspects were booked for possession of stolen property. The tailgate was recovered and detectives are investigating.

On 2/4/2020, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the 9000 block of Imperial Hwy. regarding a male victim that was assaulted. The victim was asleep outside when an unknown male began assaulting the victim. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with tattoos on his arms and short black hair. The victim sustained minor injuries during the assault. He was treated by the Downey Fire Department at the scene. Detectives are investigating.

On 2/8/2020, at approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of Imperial Hwy. regarding a report of a male and female that overdosed. Officers arrived and found the male was unresponsive. Officers administered (2) doses of Narcan to the male. Both subjects were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

On 2/8/2020, at approximately 9:35 a.m., officers were dispatched the 9400 block of Imperial Hwy. to assist Downey Fire with a structure fire. The incident was determined to be arson.  Arson investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.

On 2/9/2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Paramount / Gardendale.  The male driver/suspect was arrested.
