Crime Report: 2/15/21

  • On Feb. 6 at 2:20 am, officers responded to a fight in progress at Downey Ave. and Second St. Upon arrival, the adult victim stated he had been in a fight with two other males. During the fight, one of the suspects took the victim's gold chain and ring prior to fleeing the scene. Officers responded to the scene and located the suspect who was arrested for robbery. 

  • On Feb. 6 at 11:15 am, officers were dispatched to 8425 Firestone Blvd, in regards to an armed robbery. The victim was in the rear parking lot of the Embassy Suites when he was contacted by the two suspects. One suspect brandished a black handgun and took the victim's belt and watch. The suspects entered their vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was not injured during the robbery.

  • On Feb. 13 at 12 am, officers responded to an in-progress assault on the 12500 block of Rose Ave. The victim and suspect began arguing over a lost cell phone. The argument led to the suspect brandishing a knife and making attempts to slash the victim with it. The victim was able to move out of the way and avoided being cut. Officers responded and arrested the suspect for assault with a deadly weapon.

  • On Feb. 13 at 12:55 am, officers were dispatched to the 12500 block of Columbia Way, in regards to an attempted carjacking. The adult victim stated while she was stopped in traffic at Lakewood/Columbia, the suspect approached her driver's window. The suspect asked the victim where she was staying at and then opened the driver's door while holding his waistband. The victim was able to pull the door shut and fled. The suspect was not located and the victim was uninjured. 

  • On Feb. 13 at 10:10 pm, officers were dispatched to 7915 Florence Ave (CVS), in regards to an armed robbery. The security guard stated the suspect had entered the store and walked out of the store without paying for the items. When loss prevention confronted the suspect, he threatened the victim and simulated he had a weapon. The suspect fled but was detained by officers.
