Crime Report
Crime Report provided by the Downey Police Department. FRIDAY, APRIL 17 At 1:15 p.m., officers responded to the Downey Water Store (13105 Lakewood Blvd.) regarding a robbery investigation. Responding officers spoke with the victim who reported a male had entered the store simulating a weapon. The male suspect proceeded to rob the store's cash register. The suspect took an unknown amount of US currency and ran out of the store. Detectives are investigating.
SATURDAY, APRIL 18 At 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the R&G Market (13117 Lakewood Blvd.) regarding a robbery investigation. Officers spoke with the victim who reported a male entered the store with a bandanna covering his face. The male acted as if he had a firearm concealed in his waistband and demanded money. The suspect fled after obtaining money from the cash register and was last seen running northbound on Lakewood Boulevard.
SUNDAY, APRIL 19 At 10:30 a.m., officers responded to Dennis the Menace Park regarding a burglary investigation. Officers spoke with a park attendant who reported the park office had been broken into during the night. The suspect(s) removed the security bars on one of the office windows to gain entry. Miscellaneous supplies and equipment were stolen. Detectives are investigating.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22 At 1:35 p.m., officers responded to the 7300 block of Via Amorita regarding a residential burglary investigation. Responding officers spoke with the victim who reported unknown suspect(s) entered through a rear door and ransacked the upstairs bedrooms. Forensics responded and conducted an examination.
