Crime Report: 10/12/21
On Sept. 27 at 5:30 pm, officers responded to the 7900 block of Stewart and Gray in regards to an assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was in a vehicle with friends, when a known subject began following them. The suspect exited his vehicle with a tire iron and struck the victim's driver side window and the driver multiple times in the face with the tire iron. The victim sustained minor injuries and the suspect fled the scene.
On Sept. 29 at 5 am, officers were dispatched to a call of gunshots heard at Downey Ave. and Imperial Hwy. An officer actively patrolling in the area confirmed gunshots were heard in the area and immediately located a witness, who stated the suspect was shooting into the air. The witness identified the suspect vehicle and officers detained the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, two firearms were located and the suspect was arrested. No one was injured.
On Sept. 29 at 1:35 pm, officers responded to a carjacking that had just occurred at 9868 Firestone Blvd. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and brandished a knife. The victim fled the vehicle and called police. The suspect was located and arrested. The victim was not injured and his vehicle was recovered.
On Oct. 1 at 1:15 pm, officers responded to the 9300 block of Samoline Ave, in regards to a catalytic converter theft in progress. As the suspect was attempting to steal the victim's catalytic converter, the victim's car alarm was activated. The victim yelled out to the suspect who fled the location. Detectives were able to locate the suspect vehicle and two suspects were arrested.
On Oct. 2 at 4:05 pm, officers responded to a road rage incident on Firestone Blvd and the 605 Freeway, in which one party brandished a firearm. Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle, arrested the suspect, and located a firearm.
