Couple competes on ‘Price is Right’

DOWNEY – Downey residents Elisa and Edward Duran won the “Showcase Showdown” on Wednesday’s special episode of “The Price is Right.” The episode was a salute to military couples, with active military personnel and their spouses competing for prizes.

The couple’s total prize package was valued at $38,163 and included a new Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck with lifetime paint repair; four days and three nights in Dallas, Tex. and a VIP package to the Country Music Awards; a 50-CD collection of everyone nominated for a Country Music Award; a two-day trip to Las Vegas; matching his and hers Honda motorcycles (with helmets); his and hers Italian leather jackets; and a surround sound system.

Edward has been with the U.S. Army for 19 years and has been on four deployments. He is currently assigned to the Los Angeles Army Recruiting Battalion.
