Council of Catholic Women stops in Downey

DOWNEY - The OLPH Women's Guild will host the Southeastern District of the L.A. Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women next Thursday, May 24.It is the council's first visit to Downey in 20 years. The day will begin with Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, followed by lunch in the church hall. Two speakers from Fr. Greg Boyle's Homeboy Industries will speak on "Journey from Gangs to Life." Cost of the luncheon is $10. For reservations or information, call Pauline Glenn at (562) 927-0166.
