Communion tiff

Dear Editor:Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhode Island) should be commended for not agreeing with the new abortion rules in the health bill. A Catholic by religion, he was denied communion in the church. The church has no authority to interfere in matters of church and state. Perhaps Kennedy should run for his late father's Senate seat in Massachusetts. We need more people like him. - Florence Peterson, Downey
