Club soccer teams win two state cups
DOWNEY — United SoCal Downey, a youth soccer organization that competes in the Socal Soccer League, recently wrapped up its Socal State Cup competition and finished with two state cup winners and one finalist.
The Boys 2011 and Boys 2010 teams won the State Cup championships while the girls 2013 team was a finalist.
“It’s a huge accomplishment to be able to win State Cup and represent the City of Downey at the very competitive club level,” representatives for United SoCal Downey said.
The girls team is coached by Jazlyn Arevalo and Monique Cervantez, while the Boys 2011 team is coached by Mario Gomez and Andre Medel, and the Boys 2010 team is coached by Luis Palencia and Oscar Santana.
