City wants input on parks, open space

DOWNEY – Downey is holding public workshops as part of its process to create a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The meetings are scheduled for Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Apollo Park; Jan. 21 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Barbara Riley Center; and Feb. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Golden Park.

“Your input in the needs of Downey’s parks, programs and open space is an important step in the process of developing a master plan to outline the future of your recreation programs and parks,” city officials said in a press release. “All interested parties are invited to attend all meetings. Refreshments will be provided and Spanish translators available.”
