City accepting donations for military banners

DOWNEY - The city of Downey is accepting donations from residents and local businesses to purchase street banners that honor local military personnel.The banners hang along Firestone Boulevard and list the person's name and branch of service. The city hangs and maintains the banners, which are purchased using community donations. For more information on making a donation, or to request a banner application, call (562) 904-1895.
