Cira Garces

Cira Garces, born February 1, 1931 in Artesia, California, passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on July 24, 2009. She was a long time resident of Downey, CA. Cira touched many through her devoted and dedicated 60 years as employee and owner of Security Land Escrow Company in Downey, CA. Cira was a devoted catholic and parishioner of St. Raymond's Catholic Church and an active member of the Paramount Sister Cities Club. She graciously and abundantly donated to numerous local charities, orphanages, and senior centers in Mexico and Peru. Cira is survived by her son, Larry (Anna) Garces; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Daniel, and Nicole; daughter, Terri Garces; brother, Ignacio Oropeza; and sister, Veronica (Sergio) Sanchez. She enjoyed planning, cooking for family gatherings, entertaining at home, gardening, and world traveling. Her strong and loving presence shall be missed by all. In God's embrace, may her love continue to guide us. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 31 at 10:00 AM, St. Raymond's Catholic Church. ********** Published: July 31, 2009 - Volume 8 - Issue 15
