Cindy Vega golf tourney June 16

DOWNEY - The first annual Cindy Vega Golf Classic has been scheduled for June 16.The tournament will be held at the Rio Hondo Golf Club and will include dinner afterwards. All proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund created in Vega's honor. Individuals can play in the Classic for $125 per person or $400 per foursome.Businesses can also sponsor a tee box and hole for $100. Single tee boxes or hole side sponsorships are also available for $60 each. Guests can attend the dinner only for $25. Donations are also being accepted for a raffle. The deadline to register is May 27. The Cindy Vega Scholarship Fund is a charitable organization that honors the life of Cindy Vega. Vega was a teacher and ASB director at Warren High School and was most known for her leadership, enthusiasm and generosity. She died in 2008, and a scholarship fund was established in her memory.
