Cindy Kovach installed as president of Chamber of Commerce
DOWNEY – Cindy Kovach of U.S. Bank was installed as president of the Downey Chamber of Commerce during a luncheon Wednesday at the Rio Hondo Event Center.
The event also honored outgoing president Elizabeth Trombley of Kaiser Permanente.
“I’m proud of the work we have done together over the last year and look forward to what is to come in the next year and beyond,” Trombley said. “Cindy has been an incredible advocate for the Downey community through her business, through her volunteerism, and as a member of the board for the Chamber. I know she will bring all of that energy and leadership to her term as president.”
In addition to Kovach and Trombley, chamber officers include president-elect Laurie Tyler of Financial Partners Credit Union; vice president Joanna Peterson of Gallatin Dental; and treasurer David Gafin, CPA.
Returning board members are Robert Arthur of Cerritos College; Delores Bacus of Saywell Florist; Dr. Joel Bird of Downey Integrative Wellness Center; Ozzie Carranza of Farmers Insurance; John Casillas of Farmers & Merchants Bank; Karina Madariaga of Downey Adult School; Joanna Peterson of Gallatin Dental; Jeannie Wood of Albertsons.
New board members for 2015-16 include Sheila Tetangco-Bartolone of Downey Federal Credit Union and Ronald Rux of PIH Health.
