Church collecting e-waste

DOWNEY - Residents can safely and legally dump their unwanted electronics at an e-waste roundup event Feb. 26 at First Presbyterian Church of Downey.Church volunteers will be collecting computers, monitors, televisions, LCD panels, printers, stereos, cell phones, DVD players, microwave ovens and other household electronics. Items that cannot be dropped off include air conditioners, de-humidifiers, smoke detectors and white goods such as wasters, dryers, stoves and refrigerators. The church will be collecting electronics from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call George at (562) 861-6752.
