Chuck Barber passes away

DOWNEY – Charles “Chuck” William Barber, age 63, died on Tuesday, July 12. He was born in Downey to Bill and Mary Jane Barber and was the middle of three children. 

After becoming an Eagle scout in his young life, Chuck attended Humbolt State University in the 70s. He resided in Oregon from the early eighties until the end of his life, though his forestry work spanned California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska. 

Chuck is survived by his sister Cathy Barber, brother John Barber, his three daughters Hannah Lindsey, Erin Barber, Alisa Quintana, his step children Karen Hardcastle, Noel Hardcastle, and Eric Hardcastle, and his grandchildren D’marcus Hardcastle, Adrianna Hardcastle, Annabelle Lindsey, Obi Chukwuemeka, Enrique Hardcastle, and Thomas Lindsey. 

A memorial gathering will be held in Portland this Saturday, July 30. Details can be found on Chuck’s Facebook page.
