March 1, 1922 - July 6, 2021

Charlsie Patricia Case passed away on July 6, 2021 at the age of 99. She was born on March 1, 1922 to Charles and Virgie Groff on her grandparent’s farm in Amherst, Massachusetts. Within a few months, the New England family moved to Los Angeles. She met a soldier at a dance in 1941 while accompanied by her parents. They courted during his time on leave and regularly corresponded during the war. Charlsie married William J. Case Jr. upon his return in 1945. The marriage lasted 63 years until his death in 2008.

After residing in Los Angeles, the Case family moved to Downey in 1950 and eventually they had five sons. Charlsie became a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, the Downey Women’s Club, and the Downey Symphony Society. While she briefly worked as a Real Estate Agent, her primary occupation was being the greatest Mom five boys could ever have. Charlsie only saw the best in everyone she knew and appreciated the differences in every person. She loved traveling, reading, lunches with her sister Bonnie, and attending every social gathering there was to attend. She also enjoyed supporting various charities.

She is survived by her five sons and their wives, Dennis and Lisa, Steve and Gina, Paul, Tim and Caryn, Tom and Alma, and grandchildren; Tracy, Paul, Renee, Ann Marie, Megan, Sam, Sarah, Emily, Andrea, James, and Logan, and great grandchild Alexandria. After leading a good life for 99 years, the Lord has called her home.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, August 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller Mies Downey Mortuary, 10229 Paramount Blvd, Downey. Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 10727 Downey Ave, Downey. Burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
