Crime Report - Aug. 8, 2016
Friday, July 29:
At 7:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9600 block of Belcher Avenue
regarding a mentally ill subject. The officers determined that the subject was a danger to
himself and/or others. The adult male subject was transported to a medical facility for
psychiatric evaluation.
Saturday, July 30:
At 11:10 p.m., officers on patrol noticed that a light pole had been hit by a vehicle on the S/W
corner of Firestone and La Reina. The pole had been knocked to the ground. There were no
witnesses to the incident and no one was hurt. Detectives are investigating.
Sunday, July 31:
At 10:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 8100 block of Orange Street regarding suspicious subjects. Upon arrival, officers located and detained the subjects in the apartment complex. One of the subjects had an empty handgun holster attached to his waistband. After a brief search, officers located a loaded firearm hidden in a bush just a few feet away. The second subject had an outstanding arrest warrant. Both subjects were placed under arrest without incident.
At 6:00 p.m., officers located a vehicle that was wanted in connection with an unlawful discharge
of a firearm that occurred on July 27. The driver was arrested at the scene. During a
subsequent search of the suspect’s residence, several firearms, ammunition, and replica
firearms were located and collected as evidence.
