Buck Weinfurter

Carpenter Elementary School held a ceremony this week to honor our nation's veterans, and had a special recognition for Buck Weinfurter, director of maintenance, operations and transportation for the Downey Unified School District. Weinfurter had a distinguished 26-year career in the U.S. Army, including tours as a green beret in Vietnam before he retired at the rank of full colonel.
