Blanca Pacheco installed as president of League of California Cities
DOWNEY — Downey Mayor Blanca Pacheco was installed Aug. 6 as president of the L.A. County division of League of California Cities, representing 86 cities in Los Angeles County.
Pacheco took the reins after two years on the consortium’s executive board.
State Sen. Bob Archuleta and Assembymember Cristina Garcia gave remarks at the virtual installation. Superior Court Judge James Horan administered the oath of office to Pacheco and the entire Los Angeles County Division executive officers.
“We are pleased to install Blanca as our division president and know her experience and knowledge will be a great asset to the division in the coming year,” said Jennifer Quan, Los Angeles County Division Executive Director. “It is the first time in the division’s history where a city official from Downey has served as president. Her leadership in Los Angeles County is important to advancing the strategic priorities of the League and of cities throughout the state.”
