Benjamin Hobbs
August 1935~November 2023
Born and raised in Southern California , serving 8 yrs in the Air Force right after high school. He spent most of his career in aerospace, which included working on the space shuttle at Rockwell. In 1965 he got married and had my sister and me. He was a family man who always put us first. Sadly our mother passed away when we were young, leaving my dad to raise two daughters on his own. He was the best father anyone could have asked for, very loving and caring, making many sacrifices to give us a better life. He retired at 62 and spent most of his free time working on projects. He was fascinated with electronics and was an avid watch collector. In 2015 he suffered a major stroke. He made a remarkable recovery after spending a month at Rancho Los Amigos. He was a survivor, the strongest person I knew. He appreciated the simple things, like a nice sunny day, a good meal and a hot cup of coffee but most of all spending time with his family. In 2020 we experienced another devastating loss, my sister passed away. We got through it together with another reminder that tomorrow is never promised. He enjoyed life to the fullest but went through a lot in the end and I will always be saddened by that. After spending almost two months in the hospital, he got his final wish to come home. He died a week later with me by his side, holding his hand. He was a man of honor, a man to be respected and will never be forgotten. He was not only a father, he was a father in law, a grandfather, a great grandfather, and a veteran. He was loved dearly and will be missed by everyone, especially by me. I was truly blessed to have such a wonderful father. He was my best friend, my everything and he meant the world to me.
“I love you and miss you daddy, with all my heart “
