Authors to visit Cerritos Library

CERRITOS -- Author Anjali Mitter Duva will discuss her book “Faint Promise of Rain” at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 11 in the Cerritos Library Skyline Room.

The book is historical fiction set in 16th century Rajasthan, India, in the world of Hindu temple dancers just at the start of the Mughal era. Duva’s talk will be accompanied by a colorful slide presentation and discussion of the history of kathak, one of the many classical dance forms of India, and how this history relates to that of India. She will include a reading and a short demonstration of the dance. Copies of her book will be available for purchase. 

Author Stanton Swafford, who operated undercover as an intelligence officer in Southeast Asia, will discuss his international spy thriller “China Sea” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 in the Cerritos Library Skyline Room.

Swafford’s book features exciting action in Manila, Sulawesi, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malacca. In the novel, case officer Roy Mancini operates under deep cover as an Arabica coffee bean trader and foils a terrorist conspiracy. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
