Assistance League of Downey

Assistance League of Downey's Christmas Distribution program culminated this week with president Judy Faust presenting $1,000 to PTA HELPS president Stacy Brabant. Christmas Distribution is funded by the Second Tyme Around Thrift Shop and the Christmas Tree Brunch. Thirty-two nursing homes, shelters and non-profit community agencies, including Su Casa, the Salvation Army and Metropolitan Hospital, received wrapped gifts as well as monetary support. Assisteens, the teenage auxiliary of Assistance League of Downey, shop for the gifts and wrap them during the summer, and chapter members deliver the gifts during the holidays. ********** Published: December 18, 2009 - Volume 8 - Issue 35
