Apollo Park walking trail opens Saturday

DOWNEY – The city of Downey will hold a dedication ceremony for Apollo Park’s new walking trail this Saturday, March 21. The event is from 12-1:30 p.m., with the actual dedication ceremony at 12:30 p.m.

The public is invited to come out and help celebrate with activities such as arts and crafts for children, a dedication walk, community information booth, and giveaways.

The new walking trail at Apollo Park was made possible through a $600,000 grant awarded to Downey by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District.

Furman Park was also a beneficiary of this grant and opened its new walking trail back in November.
