Amistad Gala returns after two-year hiatus

DOWNEY — More than 300 people came together last Saturday after a two-year hiatus to celebrate Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center’s “resilient and strong” at the 36th annual Amistad Gala, held at the Westin hotel in Long Beach.

The work that the nationally renowned Rancho Los Amigos hospital does changes lives impacted by spinal cord injuries.

Supervisor Janice Hahn donated $10,000 to the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation.

Downey Councilmember Claudia M. Frometa, a foundation board member and involved with the Amistad Gala planning committee, expressed her appreciation to all who attended and especially to Hahn for her continuous support.
