Alexis Zamarripa named chief nursing officer of PIH Health Downey Hospital

DOWNEY – Alexis Zamarripa, MSN RN, has been named PIH Health Downey Hospital Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). In this capacity, Zamarripa is responsible for executive oversight of PIH Health Downey Hospital’s nursing practice and operations.

Zamarripa has been with PIH Health for 27 years, most recently holding the position of Accreditation and Licensing Coordinator for PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital.

Alexis brings almost three decades of nursing experience to her new role having started her nursing career at PIH Health Whittier Hospital as a staff nurse in the Oncology/Medical-Surgical Unit. Zamarripa then transitioned to Critical Care where she served as Assistant Clinical Director before becoming the Clinical Director of the Critical Care Center at PIH Health Downey Hospital.

“Throughout my career at PIH Health, I have grown within the organization, gained invaluable insight, developed meaningful relationships, and worked to elevate patient care through multi-disciplinary expertise and leadership,” said Zamarripa. “I am fortunate to be able to utilize my experience and comprehensive resources to ensure that our team of caregivers provides high quality care to every patient in our hospital.”

Zamarripa received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California and her Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
